'This Is Not The 1950's': Kamala Harris Goes On 'Call Her Daddy' Podcast to Hit Back at Sarah Huckabee Sanders

Source: MEDIAite

Oct 6th, 2024, 6:09 pm

Vice President Kamala Harris spoke about taking in her husband’s two children as her own and called Sen. JD Vance’s (R-OJ) “childless cat ladies” comment “mean-spirited” on the latest episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, which dropped on Sunday. Harris sat down with podcast host Alex Cooper to discuss a number of topics with just four weeks until the November election.

During one moment of their conversation, Cooper read Harris a quote from Republican Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders insulting her for not having children of her own. Huckabee Sanders previously said of Harris, who has two stepchildren, “My kids keep me humble. Unfortunately, Kamala Harris doesn’t have anything keeping her humble.” Asked by Cooper for her reaction, Harris replied:

I don’t think she understands that there are a whole lot of women out here who one, are not aspiring to be humble. Two, a whole lot of women out here, who have a lot of love in their life, family in their life, and children in their life and I think it’s very important for women to lift each other up.

One of the things that I have really enjoyed about where the discussion has gone, one of the places it’s gone is about, I feel very strongly, we each have our family by blood and then we have our family by love. And I have both. And I consider it to be a real blessing. And I have two beautiful children: Cole and Ella, who call me “Momala.”

Is she and Doug supposed to start a family when she's 50? This is insane.

Having grown up in Mi'ssippi, I'm familiar with that demographic.

They'd rather vote for "one of us" - even if it's a grifting pig who banks in the Caymans and doesn't give a flying fig for them - than "some n***** lover."

Not all of them, mind you - but, sadly, most.

It is what it is.

"Back when people knew their place!"

"You realize your forebears were dirt poor back then - while the big landowners muscled them out of their land, right?"

"Well - you know what I mean..."

Typical conversation in Mississippi, on that subject.

Far from it. She seems to exude a rather holier than thou attitude and an inflated belief she's infallible.

Her kids aren't doing a very good job.

She's also a nepo baby. There's no way she'd be governor of that state if her father wasn't a popular former governor. Her entire political career is based on the name Huckabee, along with her willingness to tell endless lies for Donald Trump.

And she thinks those "sterling credentials" entitle her to cast aspersions on someone as experienced, brilliant, and talented as Kamala Harris? Give me a freaking break!

USE THEIR PLAYBOOK AGAINST THEM!!!

He isn't mean-spirited. He's a racist, sexist, aloof, xenophobic jackass! Works a lot better than "mean spirited."

They don't engage in disinformation. . .they lie as easily as they breathe.

They don't put up unworkable solutions. . .they spout bullshit!

COME ON!!! Stop this kid gloves drivel!

shouldn't she be having more children to become more "humble?" She's got at least10 more "good child-bearing years" to produce more offspring. Why isn't she doing it? And if not, I presume she's either not having sex or is using some form of contraception. Isn't that against right wing beliefs?
Maybe she isn't humble enough?

....Kamala is still hitting the right notes. More and more Republicans are coming out to support her. Hmmm.....how many prominent Democrats have announced they will support Trump?

I find it dated. One thing I find annoying is how some of the “sympathy” in the media perpetuates the stereotype that childfree, single women like me are hurt by what a yahoo like Vance thinks.

I don’t mean VP Harris obviously, but I feel impatient when I see some of the crocodile tears in the media over our tragic childless catlady status .

I think Vance is funny 😸. In general most women who remain childfree by choice have no regrets, are fine with it and rarely think of it.

Equally stupid is the notion that you win some sort of evolutionary battle by having kids (the Musk nonsense).

Musk, Vance etc are ridiculous not hurtful. I would save my tears for the women in their lives. Until I heard she was coaching Vance for the debate I actually felt sorry for Usha Vance. Now I assume she is on board with this foul trainwreck she is on..

Anyway the planet is overpopulated (no I don’t mean in the right wing dog whistle sense NumbersUSA uses it, but it is liberal common sense sans religious dogmas). It is behind our myriad ecological crises including rising emissions. The bellyaching in the media over falling birth rates is misguided at best and creepy/regressive at worst.
