SCOTTSDALE, Arizona, Oct 11 (Reuters) - Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential candidate, said on Friday she would create a bipartisan council of advisors to give feedback on policy, if elected in the Nov. 5 election.
Harris also said she would put a Republican in her Cabinet.
"I don't want any "Yes' people. I want people to come in ... and kick the tires on ideas," she said while speaking at an event in Arizona for Republicans supporting her campaign.
"So I'm going to create a bipartisan council so we can put some structure around exactly this point. And do the work that is important," she added.

Then all those super-eager-to-help Republicans can enjoy a few weeks of obstruction, name calling and lying before we kick them out.

Who isn't going to bring fascist tendencies in with them. All they'll do is obstruct, lie, and try to destroy what's already been done. We don't need them.
It's not like the Allies decided to consult with a whole bunch of German generals after world war I toI find out their ideas on bringing democracy back to the world.

(1,873 posts)from Maga Land if/when our pres candidate wins. Granted, not a whole lot but I think they can and have provided a valuable service by driving in wedges and further fracturing the party. The more of them that renounce Maga the better, cos that then can help others to find courage to leave the cult. If the refugees from the repub party simply became democrats i dont think it has the same effect, and I dont think they would do it. If tables were turned I dont think I would. I love Kamala's whole strategy about this. The cult of Maga needs to be marginalized and driven back into the fringes from whence it came - whatever it takes! If that means collaborating with some on what we have in common ie respect for constitution and rule of law - then so be it, we can go back to our regularly scheduled programming later.

(1,873 posts)party and the ability to perceive and accept reality as we know it (e.g. trump lost 2020 election, climate change causes worsening hurricanes not Democrats). Kamala is a smart lady. She knows what she's doing and that this is indeed a hugely pivotal point in history .... and that the Republican party now controlled by Maga is weakened by peeling off as many of the disaffected and disillusioned as she can. DIVIDE AND CONQUER BABY!!!!
