Ex-Trump fixer Michael Cohen faces long odds in reviving claim against former boss

Source: NBC News

WASHINGTON — Michael Cohen is an unlikely civil rights warrior. The disgraced and disbarred lawyer enjoys fame of the notorious variety because of his longtime association with Donald Trump.

That relationship ended in a spectacular falling out. He ended up serving a three-year sentence on various charges he pleaded guilty to relating to the work he had carried out for Trump.

Where Cohen, now a voluble Trump critic, aligns with civil rights advocates is on trying to turn the tide on the Supreme Court’s hostility to claims against federal officials for constitutional violations.

Cohen is making a last-ditch effort to revive a lawsuit alleging that Trump sent him back to prison — ending a home confinement arrangement — in retaliation for writing a tell-all book. His appeal, now pending at the court, urges the justices to reverse course. The justices are scheduled to discuss whether to hear his case at their regular private meeting on Oct. 18.

Nothing to do with Roberts or anyone else on the SC. Cohen is a pathetic figure.

the point I actually made as nowhere did I say anything other than what is in the article that you ignored. He is trying to appeal and I am fully aware lower courts denied him and that his case is weak. If you read the article it was clear as well.

Still, pathetic or not, Trump did (arguably) abuse his power by ignoring the court that had released him and sending Cohen back to jail to prevent publishing his book. Just as he did by seeking retribution against Andrew McCabe (Jeff Sessions later confirmed, his attempt to prosecute others via the failed Durham investigation, and threats to prosecute others, including Raffensberger. So, pathetic or not, Cohen is but part of a pattern.

All of us know who Michael Cohen is but as pathetic as he might be, I would take a thousand Michael Cohens for every single Trump supporter/enabler today. And IF by chance his appeal were not denied immediately, as per my actual original post, I have no doubt SOB Roberts would find a way to protect his DONNIE. Something that Roberts claimed to think his IMMUNIZATION decision was not a dishonorable step specific for Trump but for the heralded unknowable future--bullshit.
