FM Katz gives first official confirmation of Sinwar's death
Source: Jerusalem Post
"This is a major military and moral achievement for Israel and a victory for the entire free world against the axis of evil of radical Islam led by Iran."
"The elimination of Sinwar opens the possibility for the immediate release of the hostages and may bring about a change that will lead to a new reality in Gaza--without Hamas and without Iranian control."
Foreign Minister Katz added: Israel now needs your support and assistance more than ever to advance these important goals together."

This genocidal maniac is not only responsible for the most Jews murdered since WW2, but also, by his expressed intent, his plans, his deeds and his belligerence, for the deaths of over 40,000 Gazans, according to his own health ministry.
He started this massacre, and made sure it would go in full accordance with his plans.
Any Hamas apologist who would call this sadistic murderer a freedom fighter or a martyr for the Palestinian cause is out of their fucking mind.
Good riddance. The world just got a little better.

(2,000 posts)Tis the season of our rejoicing!
Next Friday marks one year in the Jewish calendar since he orchestrated the brutal attack on Israel. It was Simchat Torah, the end of Sukkot, and we had little to rejoice about.
It's been a long year. There will be rejoicing this year!

Yahya Sinwar, the leader of the Hamas terrorist organization who was responsible for planning and executing the October 7th Massacre, has been eliminated
The IDF and ISA confirm that after a year-long pursuit, yesterday (Wednesday), October 16, 2024, IDF soldiers from the Southern Command eliminated Yahya Sinwar, the leader of the Hamas terrorist organization, in an operation in the southern Gaza Strip. Yahya Sinwar planned and executed the October 7th Massacre, promoted his murderous ideology both before and during the war, and was responsible for the murder and abduction of many Israelis.
Yahya Sinwar was eliminated after hiding for the past year behind the civilian population of Gaza, both above and below ground in Hamas tunnels in the Gaza Strip. The dozens of operations carried out by the IDF and the ISA over the last year, and in recent weeks in the area where he was eliminated, restricted Yahya Sinwars operational movement as he was pursued by the forces and led to his elimination.
In recent weeks, IDF and ISA forces, under the command of the Southern Command, have been operating in the southern Gaza Strip, following IDF and ISA intelligence that indicated the suspected locations of senior members of Hamas. IDF soldiers of the 828th Brigade (Bislach) operating in the area identified and eliminated three terrorists. After completing the process of identifying the body, it can be confirmed that Yahya Sinwar was eliminated

(6,080 posts)terrorist leader is a welcome thing it is lunacy for the world to think that means peace is coming because peace has never been a part of the plans by the far right in Israel and their "leader". The end of "settler" violence in the West Bank? Not going to happen and in fact will increase now because that has always been the plan by the far right as voiced by the ones like Ben-Gvir.
But the world has seen and knows that some who engage in terror tactics wear a plain shirt and pants while others wear suits and ties. Some of those do their dirty work and operate from a dingy building or foreign location while some operate from fine government buildings. Neither are "freedom fighters" or "martyrs" for a cause. Whether Arab or Israeli they are a parasite on the bodies of ordinary people.
There is nothing noble or defensible about the conduct of any of the parties and their various state supporters throughout the many decades as I've stated many times before. The average Palestinian and Israeli has always been nothing more than a pawn in a sick game of power and control that has consistently seen all parties and their state supporters be deceitful rather than honest and to willingly treat their words and promises as having as many different meanings as they find useful for their advantage at any particular time. From the days of McMahon-Hussein and Balfour on up to today the average person in the Middle East has had every good reason and example not to believe words from Western leaders about how they "are just trying to help bring peace" or "help parties obtain a just solution". It has always been about their own interests, power and influence.
The apologists for armed terror are as bad as the ones who are apologists for political or social terror. The ones who carried out the attacks on 10/07/23 against innocent average people and then blamed it on the previous acts or failures of Israeli governments/groups are as bad as the Israeli governments/groups who have done and still do the same to Palestinians. The average people in the world at large don't give a damn any longer to hear the nonsense from all involved because the evidence of it being BS is heaped higher than Mount Hermon. The repeated attempts to attack and diminish each other is indicative of complete moral rot despite each group clinging to their religion and Holy books and claiming righteousness and vindication. Based on their conduct none have claim to either. The average person who truly does want to live in peace and forgiveness is made hamstrung and powerless to do so by these so called "leaders" and parties. An evil deal formed in Tehran is just as bad for the people as an evil deal formed in Jerusalem or Tel Aviv. The fact that in neither location is there a recognition of what the mirror actually shows condemns the average people to suffer this over and over without end and it will never end because the response of all parties about solutions to problems or questions is to keep on the same deceitful path for the same reasons of advantage, power and control over the other.
All around that deceitful conduct and path generate evil at every turn while each busies themselves with killing each others children, blinding them, burning them, blowing off arms and legs and then claiming it was somehow unavoidable, heroic and hanging medals on themselves and creating shields of denial of responsibility in order to hide behind.
So now some around the world think that if the shooting and bombing stops and enough "leaders" of one side or the other leave the scene that the fighters on all sides can just go "back home" and that things are now changed and will be "better". But there is no change that took place to the pedaling of deceit and those who embrace it. No change to the evil. Only a lull until next time as has happened over and over and over and over again. Despite all the rhetoric of the two religions the ones in power and control are not about peace but are only about power, advantage and control. The cessation or lull in armed struggle is not peace. Real peace only comes when people embrace trust and forgiveness. That is incredibly hard but it is the only way to have real peace. It's why the existence of it in this world anywhere is so rare. The parties on all sides in the Middle East and their state supporters around the world wouldn't know peace if it jumped up and bit them in the ass. It would be refreshing if they did.

Might just be convenience on the part of Sinwar--go around pretending to be somebody else, somebody else out of the territory. Maybe jetsam after some attack when Zourob's apt. was trashed, maybe a copy ordered "in Zourob's name", maybe collusion ... But in the absence of a way to determine complicity or chance, it's a fact to be thrown into the giant Random Unrelated Facts Dump until something can be done to relate it to some other fact in the bin or some structure of facts outside the bin.
