McDonald's workers roast Trump over 'insulting cosplay' stunt at restaurant that failed health inspection

Source: independent.co.uk

Donald Trump’s obsession with questioning Kamala Harris’ work experience at McDonald’s peaked over the weekend when he worked the fry cooker at a Pennsylvania branch — without a hairnet or gloves.

McDonald’s workers have now given their verdict on the former president’s performance - and came away less than impressed.

Trump has baselessly called his Democratic opponent’s summer stint at a McDonald’s “a lie,” so he decided to try his hand at the fast-food chain himself, shutting down a Bucks County restaurant to do so.

While serving food through the drive-thru window and working the fry cooker, some have pointed out that he wasn’t taking proper precautions — at a location that has previously been cited for health code violations.

We get it. Between 50 and 40 years ago, I worked different restaurants. I worked at LUMS in Westwood while my husband was in law school and a few now defunct breakfast places when we moved to San Francisco. I can’t even remember if I made enough to pay taxes. Sure no one has a record of me. There are records of my husband’s jobs. The difference between types of workers. BTW, he worked for Moscone when he was killed.

I recently lost my job, because the owners of the building where my hardware store was for 60 years wanted to sell the property. It’s a big piece of prime real estate, and it will probably turn into high rise condos.

That made me go back and think about the 11 other jobs I’ve had in my life. One restaurant has new owners, as does the wine shop I worked in.

The other 9 are gone. 10 of 12 companies I’ve worked for went out of business! Is it my fault?

I don’t wanna do a number 13.

I say that, because fast food, like almost any kind of restaurant work, is notorious for treating workers like they're subhuman. I'm sure there are exceptions, but I'm equally sure that the place where Trump pulled this stunt is not one (considering that it's obviously run by a Trumper).

my guess is a hard “no”. Also, he was only there for 30 minutes but the restaurant was closed until 4:00? So some workers undoubtedly missed a shift or something. Disgusting and disrespectful, as always.

Although the store's owner has his back to the camera, I'm pretty sure that Trump does his signature pump and pull during their handshake.

Trump's reason for this stunt is beyond me. He mocks Harris for saying that working at McDonald's was a hard job and that working the fry station was hot. So, is he trying to show that it is not a hard job and that it is not hot? Insult to all restaurant workers in my opinion.

Why does he call the work of frying potatoes called working at the fry counter? I have not done this kind of work but I would think it would be called "working the fries". There is no counter at that station.
