At Donald Trump’s rally tonight in North Carolina, Tulsi Gabbard just walked out on stage and announced that she is “joining the Republican Party.”

Gabbard’s announcement came two years after she decided to leave the Democratic Party in 2022 and become an independent. In the time since, Gabbard has campaigned extensively for Republican candidates, and she endorsed Trump in August.

“Those of you here or those watching at home who are independent-minded people like myself, who love our country and are committed to the Constitution and to freedom, the Democrat Party is no home for people like us,” Gabbard said.

She was previously a Democratic member of Congress and a Democratic presidential candidate in the 2020 election.

During the VP debate , when confronted with the fact the hundreds of former Republican officials were backing Harris, JD Vance claimed that Trump had the support from some major Democratic Party leaders. Of course, the only Democrats he could name supporting Trump were Tulsi Gabbard & RFK JR. Gabbard had already left the Democratic Party but now she is officially a Republican. Leaving Trump with one single supporter of any note with any ties to to the Democratic Party (and his only real tie at this point is his father ran for President as a Democrat).
