Is it a good strategy to deny clearly visible toxic misogyny and stupidity?

When asked by NBC News's Hallie Jackson why so many men, specially black men do not support her, Kamala Harris replied she did see that way. She practically denied the proverbial elephant in the room -- the toxic misogyny.
When Fox News Bret Baier asked why so many people support Trump in spite of his insanity? Are they stupid? She also avoided answering it directly. She didn't take media's bait.

Is it a good strategy not to acknowledge a very clearly evident situation? Has she learnt it from Hillary's deplorable comment?
