Battleground states flooded with voting lawsuits weeks out from Election Day

Source: NBC News

Oct. 23, 2024, 6:00 AM EDT

Political parties and groups have filed nearly 100 lawsuits across seven battleground states that could shape how votes are cast and counted ahead of Election Day and the legal battle that’s expected to follow. The majority of suits were brought by Republicans and allied groups who are focused on rooting out alleged voter fraud, despite the lack of evidence of its occurring in a widespread way, particularly around mail ballot procedures and noncitizen voting.

Many suits have sought to purge voter rolls or bolster signature and voter identification requirements — or invalidate ballots that don’t meet them — while others have looked to revamp different aspects of election administration, including reducing the use of ballot drop boxes and instituting unusual vote-counting protocols, like requiring that ballots be counted by hand.

Lawsuits from Democrats and allied groups have focused mostly on expanding voting access by trying to extend registration deadlines or appealing for broader interpretations of laws about absentee ballots and voter identification.

According to an NBC News review, the groups have filed at least 96 suits since Jan. 1 in the key swing states of Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, whose Electoral College voters are all but certain to determine outcome of the presidential election — possibly by as few as tens of thousands of votes.

The courts are basically shooting every one of them down. The courts are ruling either they(Republicans) have no standing or that the issue should have been taken up prior to votes being cast. Just like all courts did in 2020.....

No lawsuit is going to change vote counts. No court will proscribe "not counting ballots" as relief or remedy for these suits. The suits from Democrats are different and may or may not result in additional people getting to vote or not.

"No court will proscribe "not counting ballots" as relief or remedy for these suits."

The Supremes voted against the Florida State Supreme Court to recount all votes in Florida. They basically ordered the state to NOT count all votes. So, yeah there is precedent to end counting votes if it looks like it may give a win to a party the Supremes don't like.

I have to wonder what would happen when Kamala wins, if the Supremes step in and hand the win to Trump despite the vote results. They could make up some bureaucratic BS like it was violating Trump's civil rights.... that's what they said when they handed the win to W.

What would our government do if Roberts, and the other traitors on the court, rule that Trump won despite the vote results showing Harris had won?
