Any other CEO would have been fired for what Elon Musk just said

Source: CNN

ICYMI: On Monday, Elon Musk invoked the names of two German Nazis in a tweet while simultaneously disparaging modern pronoun conventions — attempting, as he so often does, to make a joke. (I’m not repeating the text here — not because it’s profane, but mostly because it’s just not funny.)

~~snip~~

It was hardly Musk’s first, and certainly not his most offensive, statement involving the Third Reich or their White supremacist progeny. Just last month, Musk promoted Tucker Carlson’s widely condemned interview with a Nazi apologist who said the murder of Jews in concentration camps was “humane” and that Winston Churchill was the “chief villain” of World War II. Musk later deleted his X post that called the interview “very interesting” and “worth watching,” per the Independent.

~~snip~~

Musk rarely deletes his social media posts, no matter how inflammatory. Also not deleted: the one where he reposted the “interesting observation” that women are incapable of independent thought and that only “alpha males” should make policy decisions.

Musk was a partial inspiration for the characterization of Tony Stark in the Marvel film Iron Man (2008).[611] Musk also had a cameo appearance in the film's 2010 sequel, Iron Man 2.[612]
Musk has made cameos and appearances in other films such as Machete Kills (2013),[613] Why Him? (2016),[614] and Men in Black: International (2019).[615] Television series in which he has appeared include The Simpsons ("The Musk Who Fell to Earth", 2015),[616] The Big Bang Theory ("The Platonic Permutation", 2015),[617] South Park ("Members Only", 2016),[618][619] Young Sheldon ("A Patch, a Modem, and a Zantac®", 2017),[620] Rick and Morty ("One Crew over the Crewcoo's Morty", 2019),[621][622] and Saturday Night Live (2021).[623]
Musk contributed interviews to the documentaries Racing Extinction (2015) and the Werner Herzog-directed Lo and Behold (2016).[624][625]

Awards for his contributions to the development of the Falcon rockets include
-- the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics George Low Transportation Award in 2008,[626]
-- the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale Gold Space Medal in 2010,[627] and
-- the Royal Aeronautical Society Gold Medal in 2012.[628]
In 2015, he received
-- an honorary doctorate in engineering and technology from Yale University[629] and
-- an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Honorary Membership.[630]
Musk was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society (FRS) in 2018.[631]
In February 2022, Musk was elected to the National Academy of Engineering.[632]

Time has listed Musk as one of the most influential people in the world on four occasions: in 2010,[633] 2013,[634] 2018,[635] and 2021.[636] Musk was selected as Time's "Person of the Year" for 2021. Then Time editor-in-chief Edward Felsenthal wrote that "Person of the Year is a marker of influence, and few individuals have had more influence than Musk on life on Earth, and potentially life off Earth too".[637][638]

under "Elon Musk."

Which says

Musk was a partial inspiration for the characterization of Tony Stark in the Marvel film Iron Man (2008)...

Also,
Musk became a U.S. citizen in 2002.[528] From the early 2000s until late 2020, Musk resided in California, where both Tesla and SpaceX were founded.[529] He then relocated to Austin, Texas, saying that California had become "complacent" about its economic success

Doesn't sound unreliable at all, since Musk was around in 2008 for the film.

If you're going to find fault, at least do it fairly.

take fictional 'poetic' license on both plot and character -- and Marvel films have been no different.

Many movie commentators say that about how Marvel develops its films.

Marvel Studios strives to make accurate adaptations of their beloved comics, but changes certainly aren't out of the question. Stories are often updated and reworked. Some of these changes are minor, while others can be real game-changers...

https://sachsestampede.com/4552/showcase/marvel-comics-vs-movies/#:~:text=Marvel%20Studios%20strives%20to%20make,can%20be%20real%20game%2Dchangers.

Think Wikipedia made this up? Then take it up with them, right there on the page.
That one claim that this Marvel film hero had to be exactly drawn like the "fully formed" character of the comic source shows a general ignorance about how films from comics are made. Along with that one point that "proves" Wikipedia is unreliable, you ignore all the other facts of Musk's recognition.
I stand by my post and source. Take my point as a whole or leave it based on your illogical point. I'm done with this.

The measure of foolishness is not connected to Musk’s current net worth. Fuck him, he’s the poster man-child how to get rich from government contracts. He’s a welfare king, among other things. Rich and dumb.

that require Tesla technology to stay on the road. The consumer would be better off if his cars were simplified without all the useless bells and whistles. Even the tires have to be made especially for Tesla. It's really very simple. Musk is a fraud and lousy businessman. If he can produce an electric car that the working class could afford his business would grow.
Because of his strange political affiliations, More and more consumers are making other choices. It costs far more to build an internal combustion engine than an electric motor. Why is that not reflected in the cost of the Tesla automobiles?

https://edition.cnn.com/2024/08/09/tech/elon-musk-garm-advertisers-lawsuit/index.html

The asswipe sued a small nonprofit group GARM out of existence and is suing hi Media Matters.
Unlike his bloated companies, most small non-profits cannot survive crap like that.

Litigation is a key part of the Musk playbook when it comes to any person or group challenging him or his businesses. Angry at advertisers for leaving his Nazi-tolerating social media site, Musk sued a nonprofit ad group out of existence. In fact, Musk and his companies have filed at least 23 lawsuits in federal courts alone since July of 2023, according to Fortune, targeting “competitors, startups, law firms, watchdog groups, individuals, the state of California, federal agencies, and pop star Grimes, who is the mother of three of his children.”

Bottom line: When you have virtually unlimited money, you have practically unlimited power to play offense – in court, in the boardroom or on social media.

Articles about GARM:

https://www.businessinsider.in/advertising/news/the-global-alliance-for-responsible-media-is-discontinuing-activities-after-elon-musks-x-filed-an-antitrust-lawsuit-against-it/articleshow/112384270.cms

https://www.cnbc.com/2024/08/08/ad-group-suspends-garm-after-of-x-elon-musks-antitrust-lawsuit-.html

I mean..seriously wtf? These creeps who go on and on about being the “censored” literally use money to strong arm a small nonprofit into oblivion and then continue to whine about being silenced .

From Wiki: What was the purpose of the Project Paperclip?
Between 1945 and the 1960s, the United States government brought more than 1,500 German scientists and engineers into the country through Project Paperclip to work on guided missiles, jet and rocket engines, aerodynamics, aerospace medicine, and submarine technology.

Is Musk that much different? We no longer have to wait for Boeing, ULA or others.

Done by SpaceX and Tesla engineers and scientists as if that is stuff he personally oversees and does.
He spends so much time tweeting, skipping and dancing that I don’t see how he can be as “hardcore” as he wants his poor employees to be.

I work on very modest projects and even they are harder during this election season when I keep peeking in during work hours to gape at Trump, Vance and Musk etc in horror.

Those companies must be running on autopilot at this point.
He has to have competent subordinates who do most of the work. This guy isn’t doing anything worthwhile.
