A pair of White House aides is joining Vice President Kamala Harris transition team as it ramps up operations less than two weeks ahead of Election Day.
Gabriela Cristóbal and Erica Songer, both of whom served as aides in the vice presidents office, will join the transition, according to a spokesperson for the transition team granted anonymity to discuss personnel moves. Cristóbal joins the transition after serving as deputy director for public engagement and intergovernmental affairs in Harris office. Songer was counsel to the vice president and a deputy assistant to the president.
Adam Hodge, a Democratic communications aide who previously served as a spokesperson for the National Security Council and the U.S. Trade Representatives office, was also recently retained by the Harris transition through his public relations firm, Bully Pulpit International.
The new hires come as Harris continues to fill out key roles in her transition team, which would be tasked with leading the first transfer of power from a president to their vice president since Ronald Reagan handed the reins to George H. W. Bush following the 1988 election. The team, which is led by President Joe Bidens transition chief Yohannes Abraham, is expected to grow with more hires in the coming weeks.

(35,698 posts)Kamala Harris would have been a great AG, but she'll be busy with other stuff for the next 4 years.
