Kamala Harris will hold rallies Oct. 31 in Reno and Las Vegas to encourage Nevada voters to go to the polls.
It will be the vice presidents first Northern Nevada visit since landing at the top of the Democratic ticket.
Her last trip was in April 2023 when she spoke with Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve and actress Rosario Dawson about reproductive rights on the University of Nevada, Reno campus.
Harris is locked in a tight race with Republican nominee Donald Trump. The two are tied at 48% each in the New York Times polling average for Nevada.

But I think they are also looking at all paths to 270 and ranking them for "must win".
Current electors distribution for 2024 -
With the loss of an elector from both PA and MI after the 2020 census, and if you add to that a hypothetical loss of NV, that would still put Harris at 298, assuming the other Biden states remain (and no flip of NC).

Harris' schedule has been mind-numbing. I am guessing she is good at doing "power naps"!

(20,658 posts)I thought it was a massive mistake getting rid of Joe, but to be fair, Kamala has been utterly outstanding. She made a wonderful VP pick too and they haven't put a foot wrong. If results don't go their way, I can't think of one thing that people could stick on her or her campaign. The discipline and focus (and schedule !) has been everything one could wish for.

(893 posts)She'll be campaigning in one or even multiple places every day up till then, in the areas her campaign believes it's to the most benefit.
Looks like she has stops in Phoenix and Philadelphia coming up.

The Republican early voting turnout advantage in Nevada is pretty alarming.

I think Harris holding an event in northern Nevada will be helpful in encouraging more Democrats to get out and vote.

(34,658 posts)Voters now voting early. Its nail biting, but most other experts just say it will mean fewer gqp votes on election day, so one doesnt need as big of firewall.

(2,115 posts)Its just a little distressing because the turnout stats are so different from what weve seen in recent elections in Nevada. Its usually the opposite.
Most Democratic and younger voters dont normally wait until Election Day to cast their ballots.
