George W. Bush's Daughter Barbara Breaks Silence on Election to Campaign for Kamala Harris (Exclusive)
Source: People
Barbara Pierce Bush, the daughter of former President George W. Bush and granddaughter of former President George H.W. Bush, spent part of her weekend in Pennsylvania campaigning for Vice President Kamala Harris with just days to go before the 2024 presidential election.
"It was inspiring to join friends and meet voters with the Harris-Walz campaign in Pennsylvania this weekend," Barbara, 42, shares in an exclusive statement to PEOPLE on Tuesday, Oct. 29. "Im hopeful they'll move our country forward and protect womens rights."
Barbaras Republican father served as president from 2001 to 2009. Her mother, former first lady Laura Bush, 77, broke with the partys stance in 2010 by saying she supports same-sex marriage and abortion. At the time, Laura said abortion should "remain legal, because I think it's important for people, for medical reasons and other reasons."
In March 2017, Barbara rallied for Planned Parenthood, speaking at a fundraiser for the womens health nonprofit.

(7,803 posts)I think it was around the time, reports of dumbya's silence were posted, and for some reason the feeling that the young Bush Women would be speaking out. I guess I was half wrong, but half right.
LOL. Anyway, this gives me another restored faith in American Women of her generation.

(14,135 posts)Hopefully she learned some stuff her dad never quite did and is an amazing person in her own riUSA. And very different from her dad.
But I gotta be honest, it makes me uncomfortable having endorsements from bush's, cheneys, and the like. Makes me question things a bit. I know that those are not people who share my values or hopes for the future of the usa.
It would be like if I were a republican and wanted the American expirament to fail and rich people to rule uncontested, and then got endorsed by a Kennedy. Would wierd me out, for sure.

(35,659 posts)It's no surprise to me that some of them are Repukes. They've got eyes and ears, and they saw what happened on Jan. 6th just like we did. After Jan. 6th, 2021, and after he's been convicted of multiple felonies, yada, yada yada... anyone who would vote for Chump now is certifiably crazy.
Maybe the Bush family voted for Joe Biden in 2020, I don't know - but I believe they are ALL voting for Kamala Harris this year. So are a lot of other Repukes. That's the only answer.
