OMAHA The final campaign pitches in Nebraskas 2nd District race for the U.S. House before Election Day on Tuesday center on which candidate voters trust and which will buck his partys presidential nominee.
Republican U.S. Rep. Don Bacon closed his campaign against Democratic State Sen. Tony Vargas by emphasizing his national security credentials as a retired Air Force brigadier general.
Snip: Trump vs. Harris
Vargas, an Omaha Democrat, closed his campaign against Bacon by stressing that the 2nd District needs a congressman who wont be a rubber stamp for former President Donald Trump.
Vargas held a campaign press conference with several Republican voters, including two who said they could no longer vote for Bacon, in part because of his support for Trump, whom Bacon has endorsed three times.
