European Greens ask Jill Stein to stand down and endorse Kamala Harris

Source: The Guardian

A coalition of European Greens have urged the US Green party’s nominee, Jill Stein, to pull out of next week’s election and endorse Kamala Harris to stop Donald Trump from becoming president.

Green parties in 16 European countries from Portugal to Ukraine distanced themselves from their US counterparts in a statement on Friday, and called for Stein to withdraw from the race.

“We are clear that Kamala Harris is the only candidate who can block Donald Trump and his anti-democratic, authoritarian policies from the White House,” they wrote.

The signatories include Green parties from several countries in which they govern as part of coalitions, such as Germany, Ireland, Belgium and Spain. The parties said there was “no link” between the Greens in Europe and the US.

The European Greens also say that the US Greens are no longer part of the international organization, because of their "relationship with parties with authoritarian leaders."

Well, therein is your answer. She is in no way beholden to anything the Green Party is supposed to represent. She's in somebody's pocket...there have been a few good suggestions already in this thread.

And Stein would miss out on future Kremlin dinner parties. Howerver, if the European Greens can somehow pull this off, I will be enjoying my meal of crow!

get so involved with Putin anyway? My daughter was a big Jill Stein supporter years ago, but no more. I always wondered what the allure was to her. I think she just wanted to make separate decisions from me.

Just like the MAGAS. She has no plan for the future, just tear it all down. Those who don't understand how government works love this non-solution.

I've been disgusted with the US Greens for 30 years or so, vetting their candidates seems lik to be a completely foreign concept to them.
