Walz predicts women will send Trump a message on Election Day 'whether he likes it or not'

Vice President Harris’s running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D), predicted Saturday that women will send former President Trump a message on Election “whether he likes it or not.”

“Now here’s the good news, I kind of have a feeling that women all across this country, from every walk of life, from either party, are going to send a loud and clear message to Donald Trump next Tuesday, November fifth, whether he likes it or not,” Walz said at a campaign event in Flagstaff, Ariz., on Saturday as the crowd then cheered and started chanting “vote.”

Walz’s comment in the battleground state of Arizona comes just a few days after Trump said at a Green Bay, Wis., rally that his advisor told him not to characterize himself as a “protector” of women.

“My people told me about four weeks ago, I would say, ‘No, I want to protect the people; I want to protect the women of our country. I want to protect the women,’” Trump said.

As usual, his word salad is incomprehensible.

Protect the women from what? It’s his policies and practices that women need to be protected from!

This election can’t happen soon enough!

that "the man must be the protector of the woman". It has been ingrained in most of this country's myriad of cultures for millennia.

Whenever women make some progress here in the U.S., it's immediately "retracted" (see the "Rosie the Riveters" of the WWII '40s, suddenly objectified and infantilized by the '50s, and I hate to say, by the "Barbie" doll culture).

When women protested in the '60s and '70s, the "feminists" were (and continue to be) trashed and insulted (e.g., Rash Limpballs would call them "Femi-Nazis" ). The '90s and '00s finally saw more and more women getting elected to Congress and gradually getting into the Fortune 500 as leaders, and some of these lunkhead backward men have had enough. And in comes their "God-Emperor" to set things straight.

Barbie has always had a job (beginning as a teen model), never needed a man to get it, or be her boss. She never actually married Ken, at one point was dating others. At some point in her story line she was supposedly married to Ken, but it was dropped, if I'm remembering right, because she would only be a mother after that.

At any rate, Barbie's story and life has adapted to society, but the underlying theme was "like Barbie, you can do anything". It was a strong message for girls everywhere. they choose, they decide, they have no limits.

People get caught up in how the doll looks, but in the beginning the Mattel owners were looking for something they could sell (they already had other dolls, including Chatty Cathy in the works at the same time), that would appeal to girls looking at being grown up, not a child. The doll was modelled on the Bild newspaper mascot, Lili. You should look up those cartoons from the paper, if you think Barbie was sexualized.

Okay, brief history lesson/opinion piece over.

It took 60 years to get her out of the "wasp waist" and "big boobs" and into the "career" thing.

A partial breakthrough for career women only came in the latter '60s, like what was seen with Marlo Thomas and "That Girl", where a woman could actually be "single and working" and on her own (although in that show's case, she still had a fiance "Don" as a compromise to have that "male overseer" ).

I remember when the "Dawn" doll came out as a smaller (6.5" ) version of a "teen" to compete with Barbie. Ironically, "Dawn" dolls actually fit in the Barbie cars/houses much better than the bigger Barbie.

But like everything else, women would be relegated to "fashion" and "homemaker" aspirations.
