AP Race Call: Donald Trump wins Indiana
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

Republican Donald Trump won the presidential election in Indiana on Tuesday. The reliably conservative state, where Republicans have held the governor’s office for 20 years, gave Trump its 11 electoral votes over Democrat Kamala Harris. Indiana has been favorable toward Trump in his three races for the White House. In 2016, the year he won the presidency, and again in 2020, Trump took 57% of the Hoosier state vote. The Associated Press declared Trump the winner at 7:00 p.m. EST.

As a kid growing up when I visited my grandparents in Chicago we’d drive to my uncles farm in Michigan and had to go though Indiana. We would stop at the Illinois state line to go to the bathroom and fill up the car. Indiana was a sundown state and if you were a person of color you never stopped there. I didn’t understand at the time what it meant until I was an adult. My husband also has a niece who lives there and she and her husband are ultra magas with their house decked out in convicted racist signs, flags and banners. I’ve never met the husband but heard he is a racist piece of work.

my Mom and I were going through an old family heirloom trunk from her Indy relatives in the 70's and we found clan memorabilia, and of course the putrid Confederate flag. Glad to get the eff away from them and move north to Michigan

That's what Indiana has become. Another meth-infested, low information state with people who vote against their own self-interests, because they love their hate.

My apologies to our DU members from Indiana.
