Steve Bannon Warns of Potential Third Donald Trump Impeachment

Democrats will move to impeach President-elect Donald Trump for a third time if they have control of the U.S. House of Representatives after the 2026 midterm election, former Trump adviser Steve Bannon warned on Friday. Trump was elected to a second term in a decisive victory against Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee, earlier this week.
While Republicans also took control of the U.S. Senate, the status of the House remains up in the air, although the GOP currently looks favored to retain its grip on the chamber. However, Democrats may have a better chance of capturing control of the House in the 2026 midterms even if they come up short this year. The party that controls the presidency typically loses House seats in midterm elections and the chamber is all but certain to be closely divided in 2026.
During his first stint in the White House, Trump was twice impeached by the Democrat-controlled House, the first time in 2019 over his alleged attempt to pressure Ukraine to investigate then-candidate Joe Biden and the second in January 2021 over his role in the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. He was acquitted by the Senate in both cases.
Bannon, who served as White House chief strategist in the early months of the first Trump administration, warned during an episode of his War Room podcast on Friday that House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, a New York Democrat, would lead the charge to another Trump impeachment if House control flips during the midterms. "Hakeem Jeffries could be, will be, the speaker of the House in two years," Bannon said. "And the first thing he will do in the early days of 2027 is move to impeach Donald Trump. Trust me. They're gonna put $10 billion in back of him. They have nobody else."

(3,504 posts)I doubt once the DOJ finishes what is already in place on Hunter Biden, we will never hear his name again. Not worth Repug time now. I do wish Biden as a giant middle finger to Repugs on way out the door would pardon Hunter. He is too good a man I suppose but I wouldn't fault him. Trump has done far worse and will again.

(36,779 posts)that don't follow these things like us thought Trump wasn't treated fair. Two impeachments and all the court cases
led by black prosecutors backfired. Democrats over played their hand like the Republicans did with
Clinton. That pos Garland screwed over Hunter Biden and sat on his hands with Trump not wanting to appear
political. Biden should have fired Garland years ago and pardoned Hunter already.

(1,419 posts)that he's refusing to pardon Hunter, and it's even more appalling considering those who have done much worse have received such consideration. This man and his family have suffered enough for his transgressions - it's time for them to have some peace in their lives.

Vance, Bannon, Miller and a few others will be running the government behind the scenes from Day 1 - no need to piss off the loonies in the cult if they can just steer him however they want.

His compatriots either plead out or were convicted, and are serving between 3 - 5 years in federal prison. He escaped the federal trial for that when 45 pardoned him before the trial started. But there is no pardon for STATE charges.

(143,117 posts)HAS BEEN D.A. Alvin Bragg and we are just waiting on Judge Merchan to do the damn sentence, even if it's something as ridiculous as a fine and probation. It may end up being some kind of "suspended sentence" at this point.
In any case, the NY prosecutors have had some kind of success, albeit what they are doing now should have happened in that state DECADES ago under their predecessors who obviously ignored the criminality.
