Debbie Wasserman Schultz Says Parents Shouldn't 'Trust Matt Gaetz With Their Teenager'

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) claimed that former Rep. Matt Gaetz cannot be trusted with a “teenager” let alone the “entire system of justice” on Friday.
Earlier this week, President-elect Donald Trump nominated the former Florida lawmaker to be his attorney general. The nomination came in spite of a House Ethics Committee investigation into Gaetz regarding allegations of sexual misconduct and drug use.
According to ABC News, a woman who was at the center of the Justice Department’s investigation of Gaetz over sex-trafficking allegations testified to the House Ethics Committee that the now-former Florida congressman had sex with her when she was just 17-years-old.
Schultz appeared to allude to those allegations during a Friday interview with MSNBC anchor Jose Diaz-Balart while discussing Gaetz’s nomination.
SCHULTZ: It’s breathtaking in its extremism. I mean, Matt Gaetz has no experience whatsoever with the Department of Justice other than being a subject of investigation for trafficking, sex trafficking minors. I mean, that’s his experience with the Department of Justice. And, you know, I mean, we’re talking about someone who would be responsible for the entire system of justice, who has been and investigated by the system of justice and has no other experience other than that it is an extreme, outrageous nomination and one that obviously I think should be defeated.
