U.S. allies warn of 'hybrid warfare' after two undersea cables cut in Baltic Sea

U.S. allies warned of "hybrid warfare" Tuesday after two undersea communication cables were severed in the Baltic Sea, raising suspicions that they may be the latest acts of sabotage targeting the West as it clashes with Russia.

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said Tuesday that "no one believes that these cables were cut accidentally" after a rupture in a 730-mile cable linking Germany and Finland was detected Monday. "We have to state, without knowing specifically who it came from, that it is a ‘hybrid’ action," he said. "And we also have to assume, without knowing it yet, that it is sabotage.”

Lithuania’s navy said Tuesday that it had increased monitoring of its waters after damage to a separate cable connecting the Baltic nation with Sweden’s Gotland Island was detected on Sunday. Swedish operator Arelion told NBC News on Monday that the company was “in contact with Swedish authorities and the Swedish Armed Forces regarding the incident.”

The parties involved in both ruptures — all members of NATO — stopped short of pointing fingers, but eyes immediately turned to Russia.

Europe and the US are in denial.

Putin is at war and playing hardball.
He is winning the war.
His puppet was just installed into the WH again and will destroy the country for him.

Strong circumstantial evidence that 🇨🇳Chinese-flagged cargo ship Yi Peng was responsible for breaking two underwater telecoms cables in the Baltic Sea (17-18th November).

These cables connected Finland to Germany and Sweden to Lithuania, and the incident raised immediate suspicions of intentional sabotage.

Yi Peng 3 had left a Russian port before the attack and was being closely tracked by Danish naval forces as it attempted to flee the region. The situation mirrors last year’s controversy surrounding the New Polar Bear, a Chinese ship that damaged the Balticconnector gas pipeline.

He noted that these events, whether by China or Russia, represented an escalating threat to European security. “Counteractions are overdue,” Kols declared, reflecting the broader concern that such acts of disruption could pave the way for more aggressive actions in the future.

By the time Yi Peng 3 entered Danish waters, multiple Danish naval vessels had already been dispatched to monitor its movements. Using real-time data from the ship’s AIS [Automatic Identification System], observers noted the ship leaving the busy Kattegat shipping lane, with a Danish Navy vessel shadowing it.
