'I can't pay my bills,' Rudy Giuliani says in courtroom outburst

Source: Reuters via Yahoo News

Rudy Giuliani was rebuked by a federal judge on Tuesday after the former New York City mayor interrupted a court hearing, pleading he could not pay his bills because two Georgia election workers to whom he owes $148 million have tied up his assets.

Giuliani, once a personal lawyer for U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, spoke ahead of a January trial to determine which assets he must surrender to Ruby Freeman and her daughter Wandrea Moss.

The two election workers won the $148 million verdict from a jury in Washington, D.C. after accusing Giuliani of destroying their reputations by lying that they tried to help steal the 2020 U.S. presidential election from Trump.

U.S. District Judge Lewis Liman in Manhattan previously threatened Giuliani with civil contempt for failing to surrender assets, including a luxury Manhattan apartment, to partially cover what he owes.

Instead, he struck out and lost big time to these two wonderful women.

I hope that they get something soon, since rudi seems to be hiding assets, among other things, claiming he's broke, and doing all sorts of crap to avoid paying them anything.

in a shitty part of town. The "bills' he can't pay are lifestyle choices. Bankruptcy judges allow minimalist living expense. He can go to the food bank or senior center like everyone else.

His bankruptcy case was dismissed and he's not allowed to file another for 12 months, so he has no federal protections of his assets. I'm other words, he's at the Find Out stage.

Him and a ton of January 6th Criminals have been held accountable. The real crime is that the ringleader, Trump, has escaped justice. Which is entirely Merrick Garland's fault for slow-walking the cases against Trump. Garland is a traitor to justice and democracy.

Haven’t liked Giuliani for a long time.

He’s always been a corrupt racist asshole who built his reputation largely on things he didn’t do (America’s mayor my ass) like take care of 9-11 first responders or shouldn’t have done like the grossly racist, overtly classist stop & frisk policy.

But now apparently someone needs to explain to him that bankruptcy often comes with some discomfort. And this one is entirely self inflicted.

He didn’t have to defame these honest, upright women. But he did and, indeed, hasn’t stopped.

So fuck’em. Trump should’ve gotten the same treatment. But it is some consolation that Giuliani is in the process of losing everything.
