Fugitive wanted in Bay Area bombings captured in United Kingdom

A Bay Area native who was on the FBIs list of Most Wanted Terrorists for more than two decades after two East Bay bombings in the early 2000s has been arrested in the United Kingdom, authorities announced Tuesday.
Daniel Andreas San Diego, 46, and a graduate of San Rafaels Terra Linda High School, had been sought by authorities since 2003. Authorities said he was involved in the bombings of companies in Emeryville and Pleasanton almost exactly a month apart.

Documents released by authorities in December 2003 showed that authorities found what appeared to be bomb-making materials in San Diegos Honda Civic while placing tracking devices after the bombing. The materials matched those used in the bombings in both Emeryville and Pleasanton.
The first of the bombings happened on Aug. 28, 2003, when a small handmade bombs exploded at the Chiron complex in Emeryville. The blast did not injure anyone; it did shatter windows and damaged the front door of the main office at the 20-building campus. Authorities said they found and disabled a similar device before it exploded.
