Democrat Derek Tran defeats GOP Rep. Michelle Steel in Southern California swing House district

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Democrat Derek Tran ousted Republican U.S. Rep. Michelle Steel in a Southern California House district Wednesday that was specifically drawn to give Asian Americans a stronger voice on Capitol Hill.

Steel said in a statement that “like all journeys, this one is ending for a new one to begin.” When she captured the seat in 2020, Steel joined Washington state Democrat Marilyn Strickland and California Republican Young Kim as the first Korean-American women elected to Congress.

Tran, a lawyer and worker rights advocate and the son of Vietnamese refugees, declared victory earlier this week. He said his win “is a testament to the spirit and resilience of our community. As the son of Vietnamese refugees, I understand firsthand the journey and sacrifices many families in our district have made for a better life.”

The contest is one of the last to be decided this year, with Republicans now holding 220 seats in the House, with Democrats at 214. The Associated Press has not declared a winner in California’s 13th District, where Democrat Adam Gray was leading Republican Rep. John Duarte by a couple of hundred votes. Steel held an early edge after Election Day, but late-counted ballots pushed Tran over the top.

Hacked or some illegal skullduggery in counting the votes. I think she won Michigan, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Wisconsin because they elected Democratic senators, governors, house members etc.

I think those votes for Kamala were “accidentally” changed in voting tabulation. But the Democratic Party is too scared to sound like dumpt and saying the election was rigged. We really need to push back and demand investigation into those counts because if we don’t the repukes will do it again as they get better with cheating.

Harris lost here in NC, 51% (2,898,428) to 47.8% (2,715,380), a difference of 183,048 votes. By way of comparison, Cantaloupe Caligula the Corpulent’s victory against Biden back in ‘20 was around 1%. The difference between the two was about 74,000.

Were there over votes for Caligula (ballots marked for Caligula and Caligula only, no down ballot races)? Without a doubt. But that margin is far too big to have any shenanigans go on that weren’t noticed and screamed about.

And along those lines, the county and state Boards of Election (BoE) are controlled by the Democrats, owing to the fact that we have a Democratic governor, who appoints the board chair. No way those BoEs would have let bullshit slide. Oh, and our ballots are paper, fill-in-the-circle optical scan ballots. Thus, by hand count, any weirdness can be checked against the machine counts. That type of voter fraud might happen in (very) small numbers, but even that is almost always caught.

Sorry to negate your hypothesis, but the fact is, she lost here in NC, and lost handily. Not a fact I’m happy about but, I have to live in reality. I cannot afford, nor want to indulge in conspiracy BS. I leave that to the likes of MAGAt Traitor Greene, Batshit Bannon, and Alex “Tinfoil Hat” Jones, former owner of Tinfoil War.
