White House National Security Council Spokesperson Sean Savett responded to a video released by Hamas on Saturday where an Israeli-American hostage spoke about the horrors of life as a captive for more than 420 days.
The hostage video released today of American-Israeli citizen Edan Alexander is a cruel reminder of Hamass terror against citizens of multiple countries, including our own. We have been in touch with Edans family, Savett wrote.
The war in Gaza would stop tomorrow and the suffering of Gazans would end immediately and would have ended months ago if Hamas agreed to release the hostages.
The video, just over 3 minutes long, was posted to Telegram and had a message for Israels Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President-elect Trump.

(6,150 posts)to remind us of right wing Israeli squatter terror, IDF terror etc. While we're on the subject perhaps Blinken could make a mealy mouthed statement wondering about the status of the soldiers back at the Israeli prison who raped a man so brutally he nearly died. In case Blinken forgot those are the ones that Ben-Gvir and Smotrich hailed as heroes for having committed the act.

This is followed rapidly by disrespecting other humans, human life and cruelty.
Not watching the video. In fact I'm surprised any hostages are still alive.
But seriously, returning the hostages alive or in body bags would simply signal that Hamas is weakening and Israel is winning.
Israel would simply cheer and escalate further.

(8,760 posts)That the hostages are hardly at the top of his to-do list. No one believes that the release of hostages would "end the suffering of Gazans."
