Hunter Biden Responds to Being Pardoned

Source: Newsweek

Published Dec 02, 2024 at 3:33 AM EST

Hunter Biden has responded to his pardon in a new court filing. "Joseph R Biden Jr granted me a full and unconditional pardon for, inter alia, the offenses specified in the indictment in this case," he wrote.

"On December 1, I received and formally accepted the president's grant of a pardon. I declare (or certify, verify or state) under penalty of perjury under the laws of the United States of America that the foregoing is true and correct." The document, signed by Hunter Biden, was executed in Washington, D.C. on December 1.

President Biden announced on Sunday that he had pardoned his son, who was awaiting sentencing following convictions for tax evasion and possession of a weapon while under the influence of drugs.

In addition to signing a declaration that he had been pardoned, Hunter Biden's lawyers filed legal documents on Sunday night in both the gun and tax cases, informing the judges that the pardon "requires dismissal of the Indictment against him with prejudice and adjournment of all future proceedings in this matter."

President Biden did the right thing, and ought to ramp up for every other potential target.

Persecuting a guy to get back at his father for *gasp* beating Trump in the 2020 election is about as low as it gets, as well as incredibly childish and petty.

Without this pardon, the persecution would have only escalated once the tangerine tyrant took office, and I shudder to think where it would have all ended. Joe did the right thing.

PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN. To Democrats and rethuglicans whining about the pardon, I say "Get over it!" The Supreme court gave tfg all he could ever want and his charges have been dropped. I want the president to go to Delaware and enjoy the rest of his life with his family.
Thank you, Joe, for your service
