First Democrat joins Congressional DOGE Caucus

Source: The Hill

Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-Fla.) is the first Democrat to join the Congressional Delivering Outstanding Government Efficiency (DOGE) Caucus, a group that aims to be a counterpart to the forthcoming “Department of Government Efficiency,” also referred to as DOGE, in the Trump White House.

“Today, I will join the Congressional DOGE Caucus, because I believe that streamlining government processes and reducing ineffective government spending should not be a partisan issue,” Moskowitz said in a statement on Tuesday. “I’ve been clear that there are ways we can reorganize our government to make it work better for the American people.”

The group is led by Reps. Aaron Bean (R-Fla.) and Pete Sessions (R-Texas) in the House and by Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) in the Senate.

Formation of the caucus serves as recognition that President-elect Trump’s DOGE, which will be led by billionaire Elon Musk and former presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, will not be able to slash spending and cut government programs without Congress.

That being said, looking to solve problems with bipartisan efforts is welcome.

The problem that needs to be solved is that the Republican party is out to destroy the country.

4. Are they looking for jobs from Musk after they leave Congress?

Seems like an attempt to give Musk credibility, to me. Remember that DOGE "will not be able to slash spending and cut government programs without Congress" because it's a bunch of bullshit.

I really enjoying listening to him speak in interviews; he’s a GREAT communicator….and funny as heck to boot.

... in that it gives us eyes on the processes and possibly on the plans. If/when they go extra-constitutional, we will at least have a canary in the coal mine.

It is not great in that it looks like we are agreeing with them or at least normalizing them, but I think that does not really matter. The lines are already drawn, and no one cares about normalization. I think the intel is worth the PR hit.

Or at least I hope so.

So much is due to antiquated software and processes that the GQP won't fund upgrades for.

13. That can be addressed by shifting the money that would have been spent on the base to infrastructure spending.

A well maintained infrastructure creates jobs and can then lead to companies and businesses wanting to locate and operate in the area which then creates more jobs.
The tax revenue from that then offsets the initial costs.
