Sam Altman and Jeff Bezos are the latest billionaires to donate $1M to Trump fund

Source: TechCrunch

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Jeff Bezos’ Amazon plan to donate $1 million each to President-elect Donald Trump’s inaugural fund, according to reports from Fox and the Wall Street Journal.

TechCrunch has confirmed Altman’s plans to personally commit the money, which is not coming directly from OpenAI.

The donations from the billionaires follow plans by Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta to also donate $1 million to Trump’s inauguration fund as America’s most powerful tech leaders cosy up to the incoming administration. Inaugural funds are used for activities related to the president’s inauguration ceremony in January.

Amazon’s donation is being prepared as Bezos, the company’s executive chairman, heads over to Mar-a-Lago to visit with Trump next week, the Journal reports. Bezos and Trump had a fraught relationship in the past. During his first term, Trump repeatedly criticized Amazon’s business practices and attacked The Washington Post, which Bezos owns, for being critical of his administration.

..... roster at Merry Mc-Grifto ?
Any money left over from the inaugural festivities - by law can go right into djt's pocket,... correct ?

Yee Haa,... this is better than a glittering beg-a-thon merch page, and tax free money to boot.

First the billionaires bought the election and now they are X sucking up to Musk. It's so pathetic and useless and so transparently craven.

Or they think it will insure them of not having Trump nut jobs pounding on their door and sending death threats. A mill to them is nothing money so they pony up.

Because otherwise, that's pretty cheap. I think 10% of all assets would be a good start, for the first year. Also, he may want to consider your wives or daughters as part of the plan. It's about bringing his dogs to heal. Part two will be about humiliation as well as enrichment. He knows it's all legal now.
He may even wish you into the cornfield.

And yes the billionaires are fools.

They don't understand the payments must be ongoing.
And the ante will be upped all the time.

And then Trump will humiliate them and even push them out of windows.

He is not yet done shaking down the wealthy.

If they get an attitude and don't want to pay up, they need to avoid standing near windows.

Is this a normal practice?
I’m not sure if this is a routine practice, or unique to this administration. I must admit I would prefer not to have my Government $$$ going towards Trumps party.
