Feb 19, 2025, 05:09 AM EST President Donald Trump’s White House social media team is coming under fire for a dehumanizing social media post that shows immigrants in chains being deported along with audio of the shackles and aircraft.

The caption read: “ASMR: Illegal Alien Deportation Flight.”

ASMR, or autonomous sensory meridian response, are sounds designed to provoke a pleasing and tingly or goosebump-like skin sensation in some people.

It’s not clear who at the White House is responsible for the account or tweeted the message, but critics said using audio of migrant deportees for ASMR was beyond the pale.
