White House Kicks Out HuffPost Reporter From Press Pool

Donald Trump’s White House kicked a HuffPost reporter out of the pool of journalists set to follow the president on Wednesday, breaking with decades of precedent, and insisting they have the ability to pick and choose which reporters cover the president.

The White House also kicked the Reuters wire service out of its spot in the pool for Wednesday, escalating a fight which began after the White House insisted The Associated Press comply with Trump’s decision to arbitrarily rename the Gulf of Mexico the “Gulf of America.”

The moves fit in with the increasingly authoritarian nature of Trump’s second term, which has seen him deploy the federal government to go after his critics and political enemies, and work to expand the powers of the executive branch to unprecedented levels.

“HuffPost condemns this egregious violation of the First Amendment. Americans deserve fair and honest reporting on their president,” HuffPost editor-in-chief Whitney Snyder said. “The White House must stop this cowardly behavior and restore HuffPost’s place in the press pool immediately.”

seems to follow the authoritative course where they are expanding any outlets negative coverage on this administration as a justification to remove them from the press pool.

Seems Reuters has been completely mum about that on their website. I know the subscriptions to their news service were cancelled government-wide, mainly due to confusing that with one of the parent company's global financial research services entities.

They could have stood up to Putin's agent, pedo Trump. But instead they wrote articles as if Trump were a normal politician. They treated him with kid gloves. They denigrated liberals and Dems sometimes subtly sometimes blatantly. But they never pointed out the truth. It would have cost them money.

And now they are going to lose even more money as the free press disappears. Who needs corporate media when the government decides what is allowed to be in the press? Just start a government branch for the propaganda. That's all that's really needed.

But not to worry. The next step in the destruction of the US is the Russians moving in. Putin's going to send his pals in to gather up our nation's wealth and property. No social security, no federal retirement, no Medicare, of course Medicade is gone. Anything you get from the government is going to disappear.

A friend of mine has a psychopath as a brother, the psycho is in jail now. They grew up together. And as children he once stole and broke his psycho bother's action figure. Shrub booted her off the front row in the WH press briefing room and forced her to the back - that was almost 20 years ago (2007). The outrage was fierce and a bad look. She was eventually returned to her spot.

Faux has been whining since they came into existence so that is nothing new.

I mean, there are only so many press passes and seats in the room / airplane, so how were things allocated before? By raffle? Negotiation among the Press pool?
I fail to see how it's a 1st Amendment issue by being thrown from the permitted press group. As mentioned above, it's been done before.
