It's very nice to see women rising around the world to positions of power; hopefully a lot more to come.

We have, in Jennifer Granholm of the Biden administration a great Secretary of Energy; almost comparable to the greatest Energy Secretary of my lifetime, Steven Chu, Obama's first Secretary of Energy, who pushed to start the now completed Vogtle reactors.

Apparently Sweden's energy minister is also a woman, and recently she met with Secretary Granholm to sign an accord:

Sweden, USA agree to nuclear cooperation

Sweden and the USA have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at pursuing cooperation in industrial collaboration, technology development, and research and innovation in technologies related to nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.

The MoU was signed by Sweden's Minister for Energy, Business and Industry Ebba Busch and US Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm in Washington, DC, on 1 August.

The partners said the agreement will "provide a framework for the participants to enhance overall cooperation between their respective government bodies, enterprises, and research institutions in policies and research and development activities relating to civil nuclear energy".

The MoU means that Sweden and the USA will exchange experience on issues related to policy, research and innovation related to supply chains, financing models, skills supply and development of advanced nuclear fuel.

Specific technological areas for cooperation include: nuclear power reactors, including advanced reactors such as small modular reactors; advanced nuclear fuel development; nuclear waste management; and nuclear safety and security.

The partners plan to exchange publicly available scientific and technical information, as well as share information and experiences on policies and regulations, and share and develop best practices on security of energy supply and demand for nuclear energy technologies...

The Biden administration has been outstanding in recognizing the importance of nuclear energy in addressing the very real current issue of extreme global heating.

Sweden has been a country that has long featured some of the lowest carbon intensity of electricity generation, along with France, in Europe doing so with a well developed nuclear infrastructure.

As of this writing, the nuclear powered grid of Sweden has a climate intensity of 20 grams CO₂/kWh compared to antinuclear Germany's 274 grams CO₂/kWh. In the dishonest "percent talk" used to excuse the failure of the reactionary enthusiasm for so called "renewable energy" to address extreme global heating, Sweden's climate gas intensity is a little over 7% that of Germany.

Germany is burning coal as of this writing as well as dangerous natural gas, dumping the waste directly into the planetary atmosphere. Sweden isn't.
