I submit that the call is coming from inside the house. Trump has been getting lots of grief for his selection of Vance as his running mate. Now we see a hack(?)/leak of Vance oppo research to conservative media and, the coup-de-grace, of photos of Vance in drag in his college days:

1. On the night of kamala's acceptance speach...

If it happens, it will hapoen then.

And of course the media will flock to his "press conference", cutting away from the convention.

And there will stand his replacement. Who will be a woman, and will say wonderful, but brief, words about tsf and then step aside.

And the press will be raptured. They will say wonderful things. They will declare it a new race. And they will run nonstop positive stories on the new nominee.

And then the polls will mysteriously tighten, especially rw leaning polls.

And the narratives will build.

And the media will be happy.

Seeing Vance's name on the ballot would likely further confuse a lot of already confused people.

Tsf coukd simply say, its too late to change the ballot, but jd will step aside and we will see to it that xxx is sworn in as vp once im potus.

And then they will just put tsf's name on all the campaign signs and the only time you will see vances name would be on the ballot.

It would be a shadow campaign. Not really illegal, just not conventional.

3. Unless he resigns, here is no mechanism to remove Vance.

Additionally, state ballot deadlines have passed and the information was already provided.

They may try to un-ring the bell, but I doubt it is possible at this late date. If it is, it is unlikely to be effective. 1> Who are they going to replace him with? 2> How would that person help?

There is doubt this clock is any longer operational. You might just swap it for a new one.
