Jeff Tiedrich - the press can fuck straight off, let us count the ways

the lazy stenographers of the corporate-controlled media continue to fail us. they dissect the Harris-Walz campaign under a microscope, while at the same time issuing Donny Convict the endless series of free passes he’s been granted his entire privileged life.

the Republican-manufactured “Tim Walz stolen valor” smear job was treated with dead seriousness for days on end — yet the much-more-real and horrifying story of Donny accepting what looks like a ten million dollar bribe from Egypt came and went in less than one news cycle.

hello, media? it seems that five days before Donny’s inauguration in 2017, Egyptian President Abdel Fatah El-Sisi had ten million dollars IN CASH withdrawn from National Bank of Egypt and loaded onto an airplane. where did it go? the FBI is pretty sure the money ended up in Donny’s pockets — but there was never any serious investigation, because Bill Barr shut that shit right down. in fact, the outgoing Trump DOJ never mentioned anything about it to the incoming Biden DOJ, and now the federal statute of limitations has passed.

shouldn’t anyone in the press be looking into this blatant corruption and cover-up? Donny keeps holding these sham “press conferences” — might at least one reporter ask Donny about it?

and myriad pseudo journalists, reporters and media pawns have kissed tramp's butt for 40 years, celebrated dinners and anything else upper class and now are too embarrassed to let it be known they were taken for a ride and are in fact so stupid they can't admit to being fleeced and really look like they sycophants they are...except they feel they have to pay him back for all the elegant dinners and trips...much like Justice Thomas.

I heard an interesting commentary Saturday on either PBS or MSNBC on the Sirius satellite radio. I don't recall details because, while listening, I was changing the serpentine drive belt on my 1997 Mazda B4000 truck.

The story was commenting on how back in the day, it was REQUIRED and EXPECTED that candidates for Pres, VP, Senate, House, Gov would do a lot of sit-down interviews with print and broadcast (radio and TV -- before cable) media. They played an excerpt from a Face the Nation interview of JFK (?) by Howard K. Smith. Such interviews were essentially a required part of campaigning.

Now that I think about it, these interviews were a main source of about candidates.

Today, not so much -- Twitter, X, Facebook, direct email, text messages to phones, and god-only-knows what other media are replacing the old sit-down interview. Problem is, NYT and Wash Post are still living in the sit-down interview era and think candidates OWE them a sit-down.

that the whole Republican party goes down with him.
If we can get meaningful majorities in the House and Senate, maybe we can pass legislation that would prevent a future corrupt President from wreaking havoc on our system of checks and balances the way Trump has.
An amendment that declares that becoming President does NOT grant perpetual immunity from crimes committed in office!
An ammendment that the Statute of Limitations does NOT apply to a former President for crimes committed, due to the power he/she has, through a chosen DOJ, to run out that time!

I'll think of some more another time.

the only people calling Biden’s passing of the torch a coup are sour-grapes Republicans, and the compliant media eager to adopt their framing. the GOP and the press were denied the days-long chaos of a brokered Democratic convention that they prayed for, and now all they can do is stamp their feet and shout coup!

boo fucking hoo. it’s binky time for the dipshit brigade!

How is this possible? I can only guess it came in on a corporate private jet. The feds aren't required to board those and the cargo doesn't go through all the standard check-ins that commercial airlines do.

Why did Tim Walz "stolen valor" slander stories persist for days?
Because JD Vance was feeding the fire continually and trying to contrast himself with Walz.
Why does that matter?
Because he is Walz's direct opponent, so the press can treat it, the dirt, as part of a direct newsworthy "battle" between "equals" that sells ads.

Now the story about Trump's potential Egypt bribe, did not come from Harris-Walz and they did not push the story to the same extent that JD did against Walz.

To try to "both sides" an issue works IF indeed both sides are doing it. Newsflash: they aren't. One party is embracing authoritarianism, one party is engaging in cult like behavior, one party is undermining the electoral process and engaging in voter suppression, one party is backing murderous dictators, one party is....the list is too long.

long time pent up demand for change.

They also knew exactly just from his public record who and what kind of person he was years before 2016 while the vast majority of the American People didn't have a clue who he was without "The Apprentice."

The corporate media repeatedly lauded him when he punched down, as "he speaks differently than normal politicians."

The vast majority of the owners of the corporate media just view reality form their Ivory Towers, and tax cuts for the mega wealthy is all they give a shit about.

The goal?
To see how much criticism of one side works, while seeing how much tolerance and avoidance of mentioning the other sides stupidity can be generated and accepted.

In short, how much power do they have to shape the 'hearts and minds' of the American public?

They want to know how much power they have!

In short, you are being played for mugs.
Only way for normal people to win, is not to play the game at all.

They ignore all the predatory sexual accusations against Trump by little girls. They ignore all the sexual comments about prepubescent girls. They ignore all the pictures of the pedo with Epstein. They ignore flight logs and message notes.

Has any journalist asked him in depth questions about his travels with child trafficker Epstein? How about asking the pedo why he's flying around in Epstein's old jet. Is it for nostalgic reasons?

Pedo Trump is thumbing his nose at the media. He's daring them to ask about Epstein.

And they wont dare.
