7 takeaways from Kamala Harris's town hall
(Yahoo) Vice President Kamala Harris held a town hall on CNN Wednesday in the key battleground state of Pennsylvania, where she went after former President Donald Trump and laid out her vision for how she would govern if elected.
Hosted by Anderson Cooper, the town hall, a stand-in event for what would have been the second presidential debate of the 2024 campaign had Trump not declined to participate, featured questions from undecided voters and offered some of the least scripted exchanges of the campaign.
It came with just 13 days remaining until Election Day, and with millions of early votes already cast, in a race that most polls show could go either way.

(25,290 posts)The October Surprise is TSF's ties to Nazis, TSF's ties to dictators, It is not just about General Kelly it is about all of the other high ranking officials who worked for TSF who are publicly claiming that TSF is unfit for office.
This is the narrative that needs to stay in the news until election day. Can Democrats do that?

(1,429 posts)Honestly, Ive met a lot of undecided voters who are like Germans in the 1920s/1930s, theyd support another Hitler if it meant a job and a house. The better argument is Harris will get you a job and a house and Trump will make it harder.

(186,860 posts)She said she supported the bipartisan immigration plan which did include more wall money. That was a part of the negotiated deal. It gave Repubs some cover. Its called politics and deal making.

(9,671 posts)You give them something they want but you don't really like, in exchange for them giving you something you want that they don't really like. Like in the old days before Trump and Gingrich.
I wish she had been a bit more forceful with that answer re the wall. She seemed evasive. Just say it was a part of the compromise that I (Kamala) did not really like, but we got several things we wanted.
She did well.
Good line about "Trump will have an enemies list. I will have a to-do list." That's a keeper.
It was good to see her stay a little after it was over and talk to a couple of the people who asked a question. She can actually relate to people! Imagine that!
Trump would have embarrassed himself again if he had gone thru with his end of the Town Hall. Or 60 minutes. The guy simply cannot talk any policy beyond tax cuts and calling people stupid.
