The fuel for the hateful fire of trumpism is people easily manipulated. Who are more than happy to let others think for them. No need for research. No reason to investigate and think. Just buy t shirts so you can advertise to each other. Trumps one talent, he manipulates very well. He’s been manipulating republicans in congress and those who vote for them for years.

I’m reading Flags on the Bayou (fiction) by my favorite author James Lee Burke. It’s about the civil war set in South Louisiana. A confederate colonel thinking to himself about the actions of his soldiers. “I cannot believe the stupidity of the people who follow me. There is no equal to poor white trash when they get their hands on a bible.”

Fiction yes, but Burke knows of what he writes.
