There seems to be a huge number of people who have totally bought into/been seduced by/drunk the mouse-aid of the entire Disney world.
They go to all the parks, take the cruises, buy the merchandise, and love almost all the movies.
Why?
I've never bought into the entire Wally World ethos and theme park thing. Therefore I can't understand why someone would go all the way to a foreign country and then spend their vacation at a Disney Theme Park, as opposed to actually doing the touristy things in a, you know, ACTUAL foreign country.
Has Disney put something in the water? Are they the ones behind chemtrails which don't change the climate, but make people vulnerable to the allure of fucking theme parks?

(18,497 posts)Disney Magic Kingdom is way too overrated
Most of the rides are over 50 years old.
And aren't they over $100 now.
I think with the Six-Flags type parks you can find tickets in the mid 30 buck range.
Universal Studios also has much more ingenious ride experiences.
Memory bomb just dropped on me.
When I was a about 12 a bunch of family went to Disney Land.
It was still fairly cheap then but you were issued tickets.
They were rated A-E and you only got 2 or 3 of the E tickets which were for the things like Space Mountain and Matterhorn.

(34,195 posts)... Disney World was the best.
It was so long ago (late 1970s) we got a suite in Kissimmee, FL that Summer for $17 a night.
Since then I've been to others, but none beat Disney World.

(16,104 posts)I'm just glad there isn't a "Barney World" and a "Land of the Teletubbies!"

(17,657 posts)Probably because my parents took my brother and I to real places, with real people to see real things.
And if there was a Barney's World or Land of the Teletubbies for little kids, that's fine.
But for actual adults to be addicted to Wally World seems more than a little strange to me (if not downright pathological).

(10,005 posts)I understand that visiting Disneyland or Disney World consists mostly of standing in line. I'm not interested, but I have nothing against people who enjoy it. I have heard people refer to different parts of Epcot as though they were actually visiting a foreign country. Maybe it's as close as they'll ever get. At any rate, I volunteer to shorten the line by one. You're welcome!

(10,005 posts)I grew up watching "The Mickey Mouse Club," and every Disney movie I could see in theaters. I'm thrilled that there's a Magic Kingdom for people to visit. It's just not for me.

(720 posts)And Disneyland. And our kids had a blast. A few questions. What don't you like about the Disney movies (Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Aladdin, etc.)? And what is wrong with theme parks? And what the fuck does Disney World, or Six Flags, or Kings Dominion, have to do with chemtrails?
