My dad got it for me in 1988 for graduation. It is a great meat and potatoes gun.

(19,459 posts)Pre-1900. He sent them the serial numbers, and they sent him back some documentation on when it was originally made or sold ( not sure which).
The date was somewhere around 1890.
Many years ago, my grandfather gave me his Winchester Model 12 (20 gauge) and a Winchester double barreled 20 gauge.
Every time I took them out, I thought of him. Im sure that your grandson will do the same.
