Olympic athletes and their gear hauls

I have been watching many videos on Tik Tok of Olympic athletes from around the world as they arrive in Paris and show the mountains of gear and other free stuff they are given. Of course they all receive uniforms for the opening ceremony, a different uniform for competing and another one to wear if they make the medals podium. They are also receiving all sorts of casual gear from t shirts to jackets to shorts and pants to shoes and socks and almost everything else to wear, either from sponsors or their country’s government. Some athletes, especially those from wealthier nations like the US are receiving a lot more than just clothing such as luggage, jewelry, even brand new phones.

Anyway, in every single video I have watched, the athlete has been ecstatic showing off their new stuff. It doesn’t matter where they are from, they are grateful to be in Paris and they are pleased to be showing off their stuff. It’s also been very interesting to see the various fashions and styles from each country. Believe it or not, the best uniforms I have seen so far have been from Mongolia, although they look more like Winter Olympics gear.

Anyway, if you want a break from politics and want to see some people enjoying life and representing their countries before the competitions get under way this weekend, hunt down some of these videos. It’s well worth the time.
