Got a free concert tonight
The senior citizens' complex behind my hedgerow was having an orchestra concert. The kicker: They played, "When The Saints Come Marching In." I followed my big sister's footsteps and played Trumpet in St. Mary's Catholic School Band for 3 years. That was of course our "theme song," at parades.
I gave the Trumpet up for chorus in the public high-school, but my sister kept playing through all four years of high-school. She loved the band and playing Trumpet. She was pretty great at it, and the band won several titles in competition.
She doesn't play anymore either, but we both still love to listen to great brass music. Brought up some great memories.
