They are lovely and there is science to explain them.

Years ago, a friend's young daughter, seeing a photo of lenticular cloud said: Yeah, that's a 'mountain hat'. She wasn't wrong.

I'm used to earthquakes and fires.
The fires scare me. Because I can see them. Earthquakes? I've been in California my entire life, so I'm really used to them.
