(582 posts)of knowing who needed love, even as a 7-week-old puppy. As a 180-pound adult, she didnt leap into the air, but she did travel with me across country after a devastating Midwest tornado and went into schools to comfort children who had lost their homes and sometimes their parents.
Whenever she saw someone disabled or using a wheelchair, shed gently approach them and sit down. So loving.
As with all my pets, I named her after a goddess. Paxton, for the goddess of peace, serenity, intelligence, and strength.
My saintly soulmate was taken way too soon, and I miss her every day.
Thank you for posting, Fla Dem, from another Florida Dem.

Beautiful story. My Saint Bernard comfort dog for trauma kids had that same magic of knowing who needed love, even as a 7-week-old puppy. Thank you so much for posting, catbyte.
