(22,491 posts)I was so freaked out when I left the theater alone that night. It was on tv recently and the minute I saw it the fear came back to me and I turned it off.

(119,260 posts)If you've seen it you'll know exactly the moment I'm talking about.
The scene in "Night of the Hunter" where we see Shelley Winter dead in the river with her hair streaming like the seaweed.
In "Don't Look Now," where the little girl in the red raincoat turns around and she's... something else.
The remake of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" where Donald Sutherland points and screams.

(8,912 posts)Where George and Kathy Lutz tour the previous DeFoe house that's for sale and the movie flashes back to the murders during the house tour.
It's scary because it actually happened in real life.
I don't believe that there's anything wrong with the house itself. I believe that George and Kathy couldn't afford the mortgage and made stuff up to make money off the house. It's also rumored that Kathy use to say incantations but I don't have proof of that.
Butch DeFoe's attorneys were looking for a insanity defense as well.

(5,810 posts)I used to handle the decorations and candy duties by the time I was 13 (considered too old to go out for 'TorT' at the time) and always had a complete blast scaring the kids who came to the door. At 15 I did my first 'professional' haunted house and by 18 I had created two of them myself.
Only one movie has ever given me nightmares, as in I actually felt afraid in the dream. That was the one ranked number two on the 'Bravo Top 100 Scariest Movie Moments Of All Time'. (Bull, but I digress. 'Jaws' was ranked first and that is a tough one to dispute.)

(6,592 posts)my girl friend and I went to see Alien when it first came out. Afterwards, around 11:00 pm, I dropped her off and went to my place.
And right there, in the middle of the living room carpet, were two small black beetle-like bugs. I didn't even try to figure out what they were, I just went for the vacuum cleaner.
That was the only time I ever saw bugs in that apartment.
