2. I'm working on a couple medical debts right now. It's only $400 so not going to break the bank

But it appears the debt is from about 18 months ago. Just catching up to me now. I had a lot of medical stuff a couple years ago and thought I’d cleaned that all up but stuff still pops up once in awhile.

5. Exactly. And the way they bill you, every entity submitting their own invoice.

Makes it impossible to keep track of them. I’m starting dental work too. It’s going to extensive and a lot of it won’t be covered by insurance.

I'm there. The specialist pushed my lower jaw today which pissed me off. That's my problem. The plastic things he applied fell off hrs after re application. I took aleve. I don't want them re applied if there's pressure.

Yes, multiple bills.

interpretation (the interpretation is about $35). The lab or doctor who performed it will likely bill you a whole lot more than that, but if they they have any decency they'll settle for something around Medicare's rate.

Note: There's another similar test that Medicare Allows closer to $400.
I can get a more precise estimate if you know the CPT code and location where it was performed. Medicare rates vary by locality.
BTW: What is the denial code on Medicare's EOB?

Its all confusing to me. The pre- Medicare HIDA is $4300. Billing told me I'll get the bill once Medicare pays their share. The surgeon was $156.00 I was told. Still awaiting anesthesia bill and those leg things for surgery. I'm on meds that make me foggy when I used to be crack before disability.

10. Good luck. Post back if you doctor who performed the procedure tries to bill you $4300. They should be happy

with Medicare's rate ($400 or so), maybe a bit more. But docs are greedy just like most people.

The whole thing is so scary. My bf says don't worry, traditional Medicare will keep the price sane. He had 150k neurosurgery for 3k..i hope

At least my mom’s Independence plan has been. I hope things work out for you. Health care isn’t perfect in other countries but we’ve got to be one of the worst of the developed countries.
