If your Sony carousel DVD player throws a "C 32 00" code, here's how to fix it
I watch DVDs. No subscription fees and no "this movie is being taken off your streaming service" messages.
I use two Sony 400-disc carousels to store and play them. This is a wonderful solution because you don't need to have bookcases full of discs taking up your living room...but all these machines are getting old and they'll need a little TLC. One of mine was throwing the dread "C 32 00" code.
If yours throws that code, it means the discs aren't loading into the DVD drive. So, here's what you do.
First, make sure there aren't any discs jamming the transport. Occasionally one will slip out of place. If that happened, just reseat the disc into the carousel and that should solve it.
If that isn't the case, take the top cover off and look at the two belts toward the back of the machine. One of them turns the carousel. One of them runs the loading mechanism for discs into the DVD drive. They're rubber, they will eventually stretch to the point where you need new ones. Here's how to put them in.
First, get some new belts. Amazon sells them; they cost $9.95 for a pair. You will install both.
When the belts come in, take the top cover and the back covers off. There are only about a hundred screws holding the covers on. Remove all of them, then the covers themselves.
Change the belts one at a time. They slip on.
Put the covers back on, turn on the player and try to play a disc. It should work like new.
