5. I live in Wildfire country... so anything to keep damned idiots and fire-making incidents less likely is good for me.

2 1/2 weeks of watching the evacuation zones in the latest Alexander wildfire with county emergency alerts going off every damned hour (however unnerving, I'm glad they were on top of it)... just about did me in. So I'm with the doggies now. Cue the safer drones.

Two different things altogether - drones do not replace fireworks. The explosion is part of the fun, especially when you’re one of the pyros trying to blow yourselves up.

Everything has a price. A few hours a year, some dogs are scared (as they are of thunder, which we can do nothing about). Drones mess with nocturnal insects and animals for a few hours a year. Neither is free of consequence.
