(38,902 posts)I mix the mustard, hot sauce and cocktail sauce up before I put it on the burger, slather it over the onion, under the cheese. My wife thinks Im nuts and she knows Im usually in the way in the kitchen.

(16,916 posts)Really hot iron skillet, take a ball of hamburger meat, put it on the skillet, press it as flat as you can get it with a bacon press. Paper thin.
Cooks quickly, crisp outside. Always well done.
Some people love them. Id rather have a thicker burger medium rare.
Ketchup and dill slices if possible. Hamburgers also taste better on bread (preferably rye) than on hamburger buns. A good 85% beef is the best, but a black bean burger once in a while is tasty too.

(8,629 posts)Todays burgers have bacon, lettuce and Stubbs BBQ sauce. I go with Stubbs or Rib Rack sauce , which ever is on sale hickory if possible.

(68,448 posts)Like many others here, cheese, tomato & lettuce.
But, for 3 or 4 years now, I make a sautéed onion & mushrooms, deglazed with red wine, with salt, garlic, cinnamon, mustard, and cayenne pepper. Plus, a pinch of sugar. Sort of a homemade condiment .

(10,479 posts)slice of tomato, onion, spicy brown mustard, lettuce. A lot of times we have deconstructed hamburgers all the same but no bun, the lettuce is the bed and we grill the tomato and onion slices. Always new Dill pickle served on the side sliced lengthwise leaking its succulent juice onto the perfectly fried potatoes nestled next to everything.
