I've got a couple of new kittens.

They’re really young and are about the size of my palm. I’ve heard that they like milk. Is that true? I need to know what to feed them. I wonder if something happened to their parents. The kittens are just able to reach the bowl of kibble outside. They won’t let me touch them yet, but they don’t run away when I come out.

11. One is a solid brown color.

I’m thinking he/she might turn out to be a black cat. The other one has a funny face with prominent whiskers and he/she is black and white. If they’re taken care of, I think they’ll both turn out to be pretty.

Can you get them in your house so they don't fall,prey to coyotes or whatever might be hunting near you?

13. That's been worrying me.

Maybe I can fix a little box and feed them there until I decide what to do. We don’t have coyotes, but I’m sure there’s something out there that can hurt them. Their mom, if she’s still alive, probably let them come here because it’s safe from people who might hurt them.

Poor little things!

Mom might not be around or alive anymore. That's my guess becaude she could definitely follow them by scent.

Thank you for looking after them. Yes a box with litter in it will work. They are so tiny, they don't urinate much.

15. Yeah, I think I'll bring them in.

I can put them in the kitchen/dining room. I hope I find someone who will take them. I probably won't be able to put them outside again after bringing them inside.

2. You can buy kitten milk substitute. Try pet store or Tractor Supply.

Dairy milk is probably safe, but the specialty milk is formulated just for kittens.

Also, try really soft food like squeezable treats -- several brands out there.

4. Pet Smart or Walmart...lots of places.

I had never heard of powdered kitten milk before but my better half uses it to feed rescue squirrels (also a thing I'd never heard of until...).

3. Make sure if you feed them milk, that it's lactose free.

The lactose in regular cow milk will make them sick.

20. It took me about 3-4 days to catch one by my garage.

I’d put out the bowl and sit there with my hand down. I got her to let me barely touch her. Then when she let me pet her I was able to get her inside. Tried finding a foster but none available. We ended up fostering her with the expectation of having her adopted through a local adoption program. Anyways 3 or so years later she is still here. I was outvoted the night before I had setup to bring her to the Petsmart adoption day.

21. I went out and fed them just a little while ago.

I’m going to Walmart to pick up their special food after I eat. They were out there on the porch waiting for me!
