Our sweet girl Crystal crossed the Rainbow Bridge this afternoon.

She was almost 18, and was rescued 15 years ago. She was unable to walk, and her eyes were going. She adored her hoomans, her cousin dogs that would come and stay with her, and was as gentle as a lamb with kids.

She's with her big sister Daisy now, chasing her around and letting her win all the rasslin matches. Goodbye, little one.

You never realize how much you will miss a beloved pet until they are in their last days. I could barely function after we put our 17 year old girl (cat) on her trip. I could barely function for a week. This was just about a year ago, and I still miss her.

So she had a long and happy life, with one of our dearest DU members. That's the way it's supposed to work, but dang, that's hard. Crystal was clearly a cool cat.

The thing I missed the most when our dogs departed this earth was the sound of their paws clicking on the hardwood floors as they lived their doggy lives. We lost both of our kitties earlier this year. We got 2 new kittens though.
