(10,063 posts)Pants should be as near the floor as possible without actually brushing it. I hate, hate, hate this ankle pants and spike heels look. Adds pounds to the hips.

(4,490 posts)I don't care for the look of it. To me it looks like they need to be hemmed.
I no longer 'do' trends or fashion. I wear what is comfortable and what I like.
Fashion is for people who don't have style.

(9,607 posts)was the ripped jeans thing. Ugh. Ugly. Now I see the young trendies eschewing those in favor of baggy cargoes. And I think its great.
I love seeing young girls in baggy clothes that look stylish but dont display their bodies. I just think its safer for them.
Too many assholes out there.

(34,310 posts)God I hated those. I am short so I always wore heels (at 70 that will not be happening) and I remember those long, wide legs wrapping around the other leg and hanging you up. With heels it was almost impossible to stay standing when that happened. I do like longer pants even though I am short. Hmmmm. What torture fashion is next?

(7,642 posts)or even just to the ankle but they aren't fitted to the ankle, I would trip and fall. Of course I never wear splked heels, or any heel higher than about a quarter inch. and even that's pushing it. Leggings and KoziKicks for me. But you're not likely to see me as I almost never leave home.

(68,412 posts)Dress slack for men have what the the "break". It is the spot at which the crease get deformed because the bottom of the pantleg hits the instep.
As I recall, the pants were supposed to hit so the break was 5 to 6 inches from the bottom.
This then makes the pants practically cover the whole shoe back, which is bad in slushy weather.
Everyone I knew used to fold the cuff up until they got inside to protect the pants from slush & salt.
But, the shoes still would show. At least from the front.
That's how everyone knew I wore snakeskin loafers with a suit.
