Social Security question

Did I miss something with my Social security deposit date? Anyone else?

I just went back and found that instead of my monthly deposits occurring on the 4th Wednesday of the month, it is now being deposited on the 4th Monday of the month. (Actually shows a deposit of Friday, but can't use it until Monday). This appears to have started in July.

Is this happening to anyone else? I'm not complaining, as I guess the question is why? And of course SS never wants to send us anything by mail, unless it is absolutely necessary.

TY for responding. I'll pin this down soon. It's very strange. Why would they intentionally lose those extra 2-3 days of interest?

We late bloomers sometimes see a holiday in the month change.

Both times they were very helpful.

I would call them and ask. I suspect there's a very simple answer and the SS agent will probably be very happy to have an easy call for a change.

The link confirms what it has been ever since I started on SS. It's been the 4th Wednesday of the month for years. Me and my wife have birthdays at the end of the month, thus the 4th Wednesday. It's strange that now, for the past several months it's been the 4th Monday. I think there's a screw up at the dept of SS. I'm gonna watch this for the next few months and see what happens. As long as they continue to pay, I'm not going to rock the boat. It seems every time I inquire about something, the recipient panics, and they stop payment on everything for weeks, until it gets straightened out. TY everyone for your input.

I just started getting them recently and my day is also the 4th Wednesday of the month. So far, it's been on target.

I hope you're able to get your question answered....
