I just started seeing this bird behaviour - A woodpecker feeding at the loose food station.

Usually, they come in and feed on the formed bird-food in cages...and the suet, too. But coming in to the open feeder is a new occurrence.

1. I have had them get sunflower seeds.

And other mixes with nuts/fruits.

2. Must be it. The cages were empty, so I guess they adapt.

3. Especially if it has peanuts and sunflower seeds in it.

I’m still hoping to see a pileated woodpecker on our property. They visit down the street and at the entrance to our development, but I haven’t seen one on our trees and been able to get a good pic of one.

Pretty soon it’ll be one of my favorite times of the year when I can chill at dusk after work and listen to the owls talking to each other.

4. Yesterday Now That Summer Is Over I Saw My.....

first Cardinal of this year. Where are the rest? In past years they were very plentiful.

I haven't seen any Blue Jay's this year at all.

What's going on with the birds?

5. I've had a pair here for a few years. This year, I have a voung male amd female feeding here.

Brings me joy. that cardinals are living and breeding here.
