Please, somebody help us all. The worst job there is as a vehicle operator.
Don’t live in a city, but I have seen homeless folks come up to cars and try to clean windows for a little coin.
If they offered inside windows, I would rain cash on em and take them for a meal.

reaching the whole expanse of the angled windshield is harder as you have struggle over the dashboard.

There might be a product at auto part stores to help...an indoor squeegee just for that job would work.

...is Armor All window cleaner. Best glass cleaner I've used, by a lot.
Also, using a squeegee than wiping sown with a paper towel works great.
If you have a car (like mine) where it's really hard to get to the bottom if the windshield, these work well, too.

And, a bottle of the Armor-All product.
I drive a convertible, so the inside of the windshield gets dirty/dusty easily.
I have to keep it clean, because glare drives me nuts.

For a boxier vehicle you can get by with just a rag.

I drive a ragtop, and the rake of the windshield is almost extreme.
It's not a sportscaster (my car wouldn't do over 100mph unless I dropped it out of a plane).
But, it's really hard to get to where the windshield meets the dash. Nearly impossible for someone 5'9".

26. This Is A Nice Tip
Thu Oct 10, 2024, 04:35 PM

Especially the use of Dawn. Dawn is easily the most efficacious hard surface cleaner.
Higher active ingredient concentration, uses very hard water tolerant surfactants, and the added amphoteric surfactant, reduces surface charge, so it's more resistant to streaking.
It does have anionic surfactants so, I can leave a film, as these are intended to be rinsed away.
That's why I suggested the product I did above. All nontoxic surfactants so less susceptible to film residue.
This otherwise useful tip does not work well on my car. There is a severe rake of the windshield and a deep dashboard. Getting pressure when reaching that far out is tough.
That's why I like that tool I linked.

shaped like a little hand. I use rubber bands to attach a wad of paper towels to the hand. douse it with Windex, and get to any areas of the windshield
I can't reach. If you are trying to get smoke off, try pure ammonia, but have your doors open while you use it.

I don't have trouble with anything but the windshield. That downward/outward slope puts it out of my reach

34. Vinegar and Water
Thu Oct 10, 2024, 05:40 PM
Oct 10

I use a 50/50 mixture of vinegar and water on the inside and outside of my car windows. Cleaning the inside the same way as the outside with one exception. On the outside windows, I clean with vertical strokes and on the inside with horizontal strokes so when I'm finished if there are any streaks I can tell whether they're on the outside or inside.

To clean the inside windows, I use a small terrycloth towel and spray it with clean water until it is damp and then wipe the windows and then I dry them immediately with another small terrycloth towel. Once the windows are dry, I repeat this step replacing the water with vinegar and water. Once the windows are dry, I use another small terrycloth towel as a final step to remove any film the vinegar might have left. Once the window feels slick I know it's clean.

This method might sound like a lot of work but it only takes a few minutes and it's effective.

Added: I've tried Windex and other glass cleaning products and found vinegar and water works best.
